The Rocket Summer
If you’re still looking for your summer jam record for 2012, your search is over. Life Will Write the Words, the new album from The Rocket Summer is full of sunny grooves, sincere, sing-along-worthy lyrics, and catchy hooks – perfect for soundtracking your sundrenched adventures. The Rocket Summer is Bryce Avary, a talented multi-instrumentalist musician who writes and produces each song, and plays every instrument on his records.
Life Will Write the Words is Bryce’s fifth studio album. After two successful albums on Island/DefJam–2007’s Do You Feel and 2010’s Of Men And Angels–and numerous notable global accolades to match, Bryce chose to return to his self-releasing, self-producing roots. Holing up in a Dallas studio, Bryce developed the songs he’d been writing both at home and on tour over the past two years. Bryce added new instruments into the mix – a mandolin, a banjo, some trashcans, even a typewriter – resulting in an energetic and vibrantly electrified album.
This album will be The Rocket Summer’s first release on Bryces’s own label Aviate Records, which has allowed him to find new ways to release his music. Bryce is now on tour with a full band, bringing the album to life on stage.
The Rocket Summer is making a stop in Denver at the Summit Music Hall on June 12th, and then he’s in Dallas a few days later on the 15th at the Granada Theater.
